Finder Tool is built with privacy as an absolute architectural guarantee. Finder Tool operates entirely on your local device. We do not operate tracking servers, telemetry services, or advertising networks.
2. Data Not Collected
Finder Tool does not collect, transmit, store on remote servers, or share any personal data or system information:
- No Personal Identifiers: We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account credentials.
- No File or Directory Content: File names, folder paths, document contents, and metadata are processed strictly on your local machine to reconcile preferences and .DS_Store records. No path or metadata ever leaves your Mac.

- No Cloud Sync: All backup snapshots and preferences are stored exclusively in your local home directory (~/.finder_tool/backups/).
3. App Store In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
Purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions are processed exclusively by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive, store, or process any payment credentials, credit card details, or financial accounts. Apple handles billing in accordance with the Apple Privacy Policy.
4. Local Permissions & Security
Finder Tool requests local macOS file permissions solely to read and configure Finder preferences and folder layout records in accordance with your explicit instructions. The app runs with hardened runtime security safeguards.
